Marija Drincic


She was born in Belgrade in 1981 and began her studies at the age of eight, obtaining her diploma there. In 1998 she participated in the Interlochen Arts Camp  in Michigan and was chosen for the World Youth  Symphony orchestra and Honours String Quartet.  She gained her diploma at eh conservatory in Italy in 2002 followed by Academic Diploma II level with full marks and the diploma of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome.  She followed perfecting courses at the 2Accademia W. Stauffer” in Cremona, the Music School in Fiesole and l’Antiruggine with Mario Brunello.  She has won numerous international prizes and scholarships for solo violoncello and string quartet.  Since 2003 she has collaborated with the Teatro Regio orchestra in Parma.  She holds the post of first violoncello in the Academia orchestra Teatro alla Scala and the orchestra of the State University in Milan.  She has been part of I Virtuosi Italiani since 2006.
